Chocolate Week

Hurray! It's the beginning of National Chocolate Week, and a series of chocolate-themed blogs (well, that's the plan).
I don't think you ever need an excuse for chocolate but the next few days provide the perfect one, to learn a bit more about chocolate and of course eat it.
There can't be much that hasn't been written about chocolate (it's been around for thousands of years after all, though firstly just as a drink) so I will simlpy direct you here http://www.chocolateweek.co.uk/ for all you might want to know, including events that are taking place during the week across the country (the festivities culminate in The Chocolate Show).
But for now, and for the rest of the week, I will be thinking about my favourite chocolate dishes, recipes and memories as deliciously different posts.
In that vein, I give you some words from one of Roald Dahl's many brilliant books, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which I remember being completely engrossed in when I was little:

“He turned and reached behind him for the chocolate bar, then he turned back again and handed it to Charlie. Charlie grabbed it and quickly tore off the wrapper and took an enormous bite. Then he took another…and another…and oh, the joy of being able to cram large pieces of something sweet and solid into one's mouth! The sheer blissful joy of being able to fill one's mouth with rich solid food!
'You look like you wanted that one, sonny,' the shopkeeper said pleasantly.
Charlie nodded, his mouth bulging with chocolate.”
